Most uPVC door problems aren't the door — they're the mechanism inside it. We fix what window companies tell you needs replacing, often for a fraction of the price.
uPVC doors fail in predictable ways. After 8–15 years, the moving parts start to wear out. The good news: it's almost always a part inside the door, not the whole door, and almost always fixable in a single visit.
Window companies have a financial incentive to tell you the whole door needs replacing. We don't sell doors — we fix the mechanisms inside them — so we have no reason to recommend anything more than what's actually needed.
Most jobs are completed in a single visit, with parts in the van, for less than £200 all in. The exception is if the entire mechanism has failed catastrophically, in which case we'll quote you fairly and order the part.
In the vast majority of cases, your door can be repaired. Most uPVC door problems are caused by a worn mechanism, hinge, or cylinder inside the door — not the door itself. Window companies have a financial incentive to sell you a new door. We don't sell doors, so we'll always tell you honestly whether a repair is possible.
Most repairs are completed in a single visit for less than £200 including parts and labour. We quote a fixed price before we start and there are no hidden extras. A new door would typically cost £800–£2000+, so repair is almost always the more sensible option.
This is usually caused by a worn multipoint gearbox mechanism or a misaligned door. It's one of the most common uPVC door faults and is almost always repairable. We carry replacement gearboxes for all major brands in the van.
We carry parts for Yale, ERA, Mila, Avocet, Fuhr, GU, Winkhaus, Maco, and Roto as standard. If your door uses a less common mechanism, we can usually source the part within 24–48 hours.
Yes. Every part we fit comes with a 12-month warranty. If it fails within that period, we come back and fix it free of charge.
